Improvements to Clyo Road

Posted on 07/28/2025

The City of Centerville, in partnership with Montgomery County, is planning roadway improvements to Clyo Road between St. Leonard Way and Ole Quaker Court. The project includes widening Clyo Road to a consistent three-lane roadway with a center turn lane. A new traffic signal is proposed at Dimco Way and upgraded pedestrian and bicycle facilities will be added throughout the project limits.

What is the preferred design alternative?

The preferred alternative consists of:

  • A three-lane cross section with a center turn lane

  • A 11-foot shared use path on the east side

  • A 5-foot sidewalk on the west side

  • Installation of a traffic signal at Dimco Way

  • Enhanced crosswalks and ADA-compliant pedestrian facilities

  • Minor realignment of the curve near Quaker Way to improve safety

Why is this project needed?

The extension of Dimco Way will introduce a new access point to Centerville High School, resulting in notable changes to traffic patterns for vehicles entering and existing the campus. This new connection is expected to ease school-related congestion along Franklin Street by providing direct access to student parking and parent drop-off/pick-up areas from Clyo Road. With this additional route, vehicles currently using Franklin Street to access the school from Clyo Road will have the option to utilize Dimco Way instead, reducing traffic volumes on Franklin Street and improving overall campus circulation.

Social Row Road Improvements

Posted on 06/03/2025

The Montgomery County Engineer’s Office is scheduled to begin work on road improvements along Social Row Road on Monday, June 9.

This project will reconstruct roughly 4,650 feet of Social Row Road from two existing lanes with narrow shoulders to a five-lane curb and gutter section with a sidewalk and shared-use path. The project will include new closed storm drainage, minor water main relocation, post construction stormwater treatment, and landscaping. Finally, the existing traffic signal at the intersection of Social Row Road and Sheehan Road will be reconstructed, while a new traffic signal will be installed at the intersection of Social Row Road and Paragon Road. Temporary pavement will be installed in order to maintain two lane, two-way traffic on Social Row Road.

More information about the project, along with frequently asked questions, is available on the County Engineer’s website: https://engineer.mcohio.org/project/social-row-road-improvement/

Rahn Road Water Main Replacement

Posted on 06/02/2025

UPDATE (as of June 13): This project has been delayed and is now scheduled to begin on Wednesday, June 18.

Montgomery County Environmental Services (MCES) will begin a water main replacement project on Rahn Road starting on Monday, June 9. The project will enhance water service reliability and infrastructure in the area.

During the project, Rahn Road will be closed to through traffic from Denise Drive east to Mad River Road during working hours for up to two months. The road will remain open to local traffic during the day and open to all traffic during non-working hours.

There will be a few days when the closure to through traffic will extend west to Kingsley Park Drive, covering the area from Kingsley Park Drive east to Mad River Road. Note that Mad River Road is expected to be unaffected by the project.

As part of this project, water mains will be replaced:

  • Along Rahn Road, from just east of Kingsley Park Drive to Mad River Road

  • On Silbury Lane (south of Rahn Road)

  • On Camellia Place

MCES appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation as crews work to complete this infrastructure upgrade.
