Joyce Young Center Services

In addition to our numerous programs and activities, the Joyce Young Center looks for ways to serve our community when they need us the most. This may include a ride to the grocery store or getting connected with the resources you need.

Free Tax Prep!

Free tax preparation is available to anyone of any age -- especially if you are 50 years or older and cannot afford paid tax preparation.

Tax preparation appointments for the 2025 tax year can be scheduled starting January 5, 2026. Sign up in person at the Joyce Young Center, by phone at 937-433-0130, online at http://recplex.as.me, or via email at [email protected]. Appointments will be held with AARP tax preparation volunteers on Thursdays and Fridays through April 10.

Transportation

Volunteers and staff with the Joyce Young Center provide rides for older adults, age 60 and older, residing in Washington Township and the City of Centerville. Riders must complete an application, which is done over the phone, and ride reservations are required at least one week in advance.

Drivers can take residents anywhere in Montgomery County and Sylvania Drive in Beavercreek, whether it’s to the bank, post office, beauty salon, grocery store, pharmacy, medical appointment, or more. Fees for rides are round-trip and are determined by how far from Washington Township the destination is.
