Planning for Your Future
We are always looking to the future and to how we can continue to better serve our community. We are committed to strategically shaping what's next at the RecPlex. There are five values that guide us in achieving our mission and vision:
- Financial Stability
- Inclusive and Adapted Access
- Improvement of Health and Wellness/Quality
- Creating Community
- Commitment to Service
For more than 30 years, generations of Washington Township and Centerville residents have experienced quality recreation and park programming in their own backyard. Through careful stewardship of resident's tax dollars, user fees and grants, Washington Township ensures that all of its residents and visitors can enjoy an active and engaged recreation complex and park.
Through careful planning and engaged community outreach, elected officials and staff foster an ongoing dialogue with you to help shape the future of your recreation experience, facilities and programming.
2021 Strategic and Business Development Plan
In September 2019, the recreation department enlisted the services of consultants at BerryDunn to help develop a strategic direction for the next three to five years. Staff requested that the resulting plan focus on two core elements: a strategic plan and a business plan, combined into one document. Additionally, staff requested an analysis of the department's organizational structure, recreation services, financial health and indoor facilities. The plan was completed and approved by the Board of Trustees on March 15, 2021 with implementation beginning July 1, 2021.
What's Next?
In March 2021, the RecPlex contracted with RCM Architects to develop a feasibility study focused on the department's fitness wing. This project explored next steps toward meeting some of the suggested objectives outlines in the 2021 Strategic & Business Development Plan. Additionally, the RecPlex is currently working on the Countryside Park Bass Lake Revitalization and Water Access Project.
